About Dr. Feaster


Dr. Feaster has a long and successful career as a clinician specializing in pediatric critical care and anesthesia; as a medical executive for practices, hospitals and health systems; and as an IT executive. His career included 10+ years on the faculty of Stanford University School of Medicine as a Clinical Professor. In addition to his clinical and teaching obligations, Dr. Feaster formed a pediatric and OB faculty practice and served as a Vice President of ambulatory services at Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital (LPCH). His work in IT at Stanford included establishing a perioperative informatics program to provide informatics support to LPCH’s surgical services.

Most recently, Dr. Feaster completed 10+ years at Children’s Hospital Orange County (CHOC) as their Vice President and Chief Heath Information Officer. At CHOC, in addition to providing support for CHOC’s EMR and clinical applications, Dr. Feaster established a successful analytics program, developed and implemented a population health platform, and led the development of data science at CHOC. CHOC’s data science program has received national accolades through publishing 30+ scientific data science articles in peer-reviewed journals in the past four years and for implementing several predictive analytic tools into clinical practice. During Dr. Feaster’s tenure at CHOC, CHOC was awarded the distinction of HIMSS Analytics EMR Level 7 certification on three occasions, and received two prestigious HIMSS Davies Awards for the EMR’s support of quality and patient safety.

Dr. Feaster received a bachelor’s degree in biology from UC San Diego, an MD Degree from the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry, a master’s degree in Business Administrations from St. Mary’s College and most recently a master’s degree in jurisprudence in health law from Loyola School of Law in Chicago. He is certified in Pediatrics, Anesthesia and Clinical Informatics. He is a Certified Healthcare CIO and Certified Digital Health Executive from CHIME and was recently awarded fellow status in that organization.
